What is Select (U13-U19)?
Teams are formed each year after a team formation period where any interested and eligible player may participate. Select teams are offered the opportunity to play and compete at a local and regional level. The Select program focus is to provide foundations and fundamentals to all players looking to begin or continue along with their development in preparation to play at their desired levels. Our emphasis is player-centric, we'll prioritize the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of individual players on a pathway towards maximizing their full potential.
2 training sessions per week in Fall/Spring & indoor training in winter
Participation in local league play (rostering 16-20 players)
2-3 tournaments throughout the year (some may be out of town)
Our Select teams all have fully licensed, professional coaches under the guidance of our Director of Coaching who will foster and create an environment where players are able to grow, develop and improve as they continue to learn the game. A balanced approach to winning, competing and developing allows the players to be introduced to several positions, systems and formations so that every individual becomes a more complete player.
COST
U13 & U14 $1,400 (plus team fees)
U15 & UP $1,200 (plus team fees)
Team Fees = tournament costs, additional indoor training, Futsal (all teams get one indoor session a week throughout the winter period Nov 1 - March 1)
Why Select?
Select is the end of the “start of us” stage in the GEA pathway and the beginning of “us”. Whole team tactics and how units affect each other is a large focus of the training environment. You also begin to see the implementations of the GEA playing philosophy as the game transitions to 11 v 11 as well as the individual attributes of the ‘Elite Mentality’ player model.
