Gretna Elite Academy is delighted to be one of nine clubs have been approved as new Players First-licensed clubs, joining more than 100 clubs in a movement that has elevated youth soccer standards by bringing the Players First philosophy to 30 states across the country.
In addition to joining a growing community of player centered clubs across the nation we become the first Nebraska based youth soccer club to be Player First licensed.
“We believe this to be the most rigorous and comprehensive attempt in U.S. Soccer history to identify those clubs that have demonstrated a commitment to creating the kind of infrastructure and culture necessary to provide the best overall environment for players,” US Club Soccer CEO Kevin Payne said.
“We are honored to be part of the Players First Initiative, and join a great list of existing members. We are the only club in Nebraska to be recognized and that is something to be very proud of. We strive to be a club that does what we say we are going to, and I think this announcement really highlights that. The players will always come first in our decisions, and we will continue to do everything to make our environment the best it can be to provide development opportunities for everyone,” Gretna Elite Academy Director of Coaching Mitch Kavanagh said.
