What is Junior Academy?
Welcome to the Junior Academy Program (formerly known as Micro). For the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2021, this program is for all players born in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014. The online registration for the fall season will open June 1 and close August 7th. The online registration for the spring season will open February 1 and close March 30th. Sessions and games will start approximately two weeks or so after registration closes or when fields are open.
Fall 2020 Junior Academy season begins Saturday August 22nd for U4-U6 players. For the U7 age group (2014's) Monday training sessions begin August 17th and games August 22nd in the afternoons.
GEA Junior Academy is an exciting introduction to soccer program based on what’s best for the players. The player’s individual skill development and enjoyment is at the heart of the program. All players get professional training from GEA staff members They get practices throughout the year with small-sided games during the spring and fall seasons.The players play 4v4 to maximize touches and enjoyment.

GRETNA JUNIOR ACADEMY INFORMATION
Junior Academy is the first stage of the GEA Development Pathway. Led by our GEA Junior Academy Director the program is the “me and my ball” stage in a low pressure environment where individual technical development is the main focus alongside fun games that promote lots of touches of the ball. It will give your player confidence and set them up for an exciting future in soccer!
All teams, rosters, coaches and schedules will be posted at https://www.gretnaeliteacademy.com/ website approximately 1 week prior to the start date.

We will be holding a Junior Academy Coaches Meeting at the Gretna Sports Complex prior to the start of practices.
All Jr. Academy players will need a black/white reversible jersey available for purchase at Soccer Internationale, located at 132nd and Center. Cleats are optional. Shin guards are required. Players may wear shorts of their choice and long socks to cover shin guards. All players will need a #3 size ball and a water bottle, both with their names clearly marked. For U4, U5 and U6, as an option you can use a size #1 soccer ball.
All Micro Soccer games are played at the outdoor fields at the Gretna Sports Complex located at 10550 So 222nd St, Gretna, NE 68028 (the corner of 222nd St and Lincoln Rd). In case of inclement weather we will move indoors to the Gretna Sports Complex (unless other events are taking place in the complex).
The Fall season (practice and games) runs from the middle of August/first of September through the end of October.
The Spring season (practice and games) runs from the first of April through the end of May.
U4 PLAYERS (Born in 2017)
All U4 Micro Soccer games will play on Saturdays 10:15-11:15AM. All Micro Soccer teams are co-ed. Begins Saturday August 22nd.
U5 PLAYERS (Born in 2016)
All U5 games will be played on Saturdays 9:00-10:00am. All Micro Soccer teams are co-ed. Begins Saturday August 22nd.
U6 PLAYERS (Born in 2015)
All U6 games will be played on Saturdays 11:30am-12:30pm. All Micro Soccer teams are co-ed. Begins Saturday August 22nd.
U7 PLAYERS (Born in 2014)
The U7 age group will run a little differently as this is the final stage in this program before going into our Academy Program at U8. Teams will no longer be co-ed. All U7 games will be played on Saturdays afternoons beginning Saturday August 22nd.
U7B (born 2014) will train on Mondays 5:30-6:30pm
U7G (born in 2014) will train on Mondays 6:30-7:30pm

PAPILLION JUNIOR ACADEMY INFORMATION
Welcome to the Papillion based Junior Academy Program (formerly known as Pre Academy). For the fall 2020 and spring 2021, this program is for all players born 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014. The online registration for the fall season will open June 1 and close August 7th. The online registration for the spring season will open February 1 and close March 30th. Training/Game sessions will start approximately two weeks or so after registration closes or when
GEA Junior Academy is an exciting introduction to a soccer program that’s based on a player’s early development. The player’s individual skill development and enjoyment is at the heart of the Junior Academy program. All sessions will be led by a GEA soccer staff member. Each session will include 25-30 minutes of soccer specific training and 20-30 minutes of game play (3v3, 4v4, 5v5…etc.).
GEA Papillion Junior Academy will have 1 fall 8-week session and 1 spring 8-week session as well as some Winter classes.
Fall dates: August 29 -September 12, 19, 26 -October 3,10,17 – Week 8 TBD
Each player will receive a GEA t-shirt.
Cleats are optional
Shin guards are required
Players may wear shorts of their choice and long socks to cover the shin guards.
All players will need a size 3 ball and a water bottle, both with their names clearly marked.
For U4, U5, and U6 players a size 1 soccer ball is an option.
** Note for all 2014 players**
If we have enough players to form a 2014 Boys and 2014 Girls teams, we will offer these players another opportunity for a possible weekly game at our Gretna facility. TBD
All sessions will be on Saturday mornings weather permitting. All attempts will be made to reschedule if a session is canceled due to inclement weather.

All Papillion based GEA Junior Academy sessions will be held at the La Vista Soccer Complex (7346 S. 66th St. La Vista, NE 68128) or Papillion Landing (1046 W. Lincoln St. Papillion, NE 68046)
